The council estates differ in size and are surrounded by private owner occupied properties.The 3 council estates at Ecclesfield are; Mill Road - a small area of council properties made up of pre-war house and pre-fabricated properties. Ecclesfield/Parson Cross - is a fairly large council estate with a wide variety of property types such as Pre and Post war houses, flats and maisonettes. Ecclesfield Village borders with Ecclesfield/Parson Cross and consists of pre-war traditional houses and refurbished post-war houses with extensions. Ecclesfield village has two thriving shopping areas the largest of these is situated on the High Street with a variety of shops that include a supermarket, newsagents, off-licence, café, bakery, bookmakers, butchers, florists and hairdressers.
